and I'm an omnivore. Surprised? Don't be. I am conscious about what I consume...yep, that old addage...we are what we eat, right?
Well...its more true than you think.
I've been slowly leaning more plant-based on my food journey and what I've discovered is that there are some incredible plant-based foods...not just amazing produce, but great non-dairy cheeses, spreads, and vegan meats.
I don't think of them as replacements or duplicates of meat and dairy....more so -- alternatives.
By removing meat, dairy, gluten and soy from my diet ...at my own pace....I have noticed improvements in the way I feel both physically and mentally. Along with that -- our environment and climate is and can be changed for the better by incorporating a lower carbon footprint.
OK...that sounds a bit preachy maybe... but let's talk flavor. Does this "stuff" taste good?
Yeah...it really does.
We bounce from Keto to Paleo to Whole 30 to vegan and back again....if it doesn't look AND taste good...guess what? There's a good chance you might not stick with your food plan.
So let's eat what looks and tastes good! Let's pair our food with a good wine or beer. Let's have delicious be on the same level as nutritious.
And whichever food path your on -- let's ultimately allow there to be variety so that we can ALL sit at the same table and gather...and break bread (even if its gluten free)
as we ....journey across the board.
